Description

WW II version of Po, Nazi Teletubbie

5'' x 7'' Oil on canvas panel, painted in about 30 minutes. As usual, my digital photo is lacking. Please remember that these full-view images are larger than the original paintings...

enjoy!

- From the official BBC site Teletubbie FAQ:

Q: Why are the Teletubbies purple, green, yellow and red?
A: ''We chose bright modern colours to go with the highly politically charged world of the Teletubbies. The evidence is that young children prefer bright colours - and everything in Teletubbyland is orderly, bright, happy and energetic. It is also very important to give each Teletubby character their own cover story so that they are easily absorbed by young children who are being indoctrinated in political thought.'' [Marc - Highly politically charged ??? - and ''COVER STORY'' !?! - Indoctrinated ??? ]

Q: ''Why does Po speak Cantonese?''
A: ''Po can speak Cantonese and enjoys using this language as well as English. Po sometimes sings this song when she rides her rickshaw-scooter: "Fi-dit, fi-dit, fi-dit!" (fast) and, "Mar, mar, man!" (slow). They are English transcriptions of Cantonese. Po sometimes counts in Cantonese: "Ya, yi, sam, sae, mmm," (1-5).'' [Marc - This is another example of how the Chinese are preparing the youth in the United States for the impending invasion ! ]

Q: Can the Teletubbies appear at my party?
A: ''The Teletubbies live in Teletubbyland which is over the hills and far away. They never ever leave Teletubbyland and it is only through the magic of Tubbytronic technology that you can see them on your television.'' [Marc - they are obviously Hardcore Chinese Communists, who are funding the Iraqi insurgents the same way they supported the Viet Cong against the U.S. in the South China Sea theater.]

PS - don't forget to laugh at least once a day, and never believe ANYTHING you read without first researching it. have a good one!

ps - please take a few minutes, when you're bored, and look around my gallery

Ssshh: don't tell my Nazi persecutors i'm here - the Nazi Party has added me to their DevWatch, so comments are no longer permitted as our long-wave wireless codes from the French Resistance have been broken. my cover story is that i'm in Albania and *not* painting!

''Harley Brown's Eternal Truths for Every Artist'' clearly says you must identify and ignore every time-waster that crosses your artistic path; their self-importance will only slow you down.

See ''Hawthorne on Painting'' for a description of how this painting fits into my painting-a-day program. His instructions, based on years of teaching painting as a professional artist, are to make lots of starts - he maintains that we have a lifetime to finish them. He also recommends remaining a beginner forever, and never becoming too serious about your work.

Why work so fast, and for such a short time? See ''60 minutes to better painting'' by Craig Nelson - the introduction to the book explains it all.

Find the section where Robert Henri talks about ''The Brush Stroke'' for insights into why speed is not the problem, nor the answer, in ''The Art Spirit.''

Sister Wendy, and any other conscious person, knows that not *every* work is a masterpiece - many bad examples can be found around the world... Also see Ch. 5 in ''The Blank Canvas'' under ''Cardinal Sins and Other Problems''. i've visited museums around the world and have seen plenty of bad art from well known artists - everyone needs to improve, and that's what I hope to do.
